WHAT: Latvian Aviation Regiment's Goodwill Flight to Estonia
WHEN: August 26 - 30, 1924
WHO: J.Indans, V.Jakubovs,
P.Mardoks, R.Milts,
O.Pukse, K.Skaubitis
DETAILS
- This was the first Latvian military goodwill flight abroad, and was in response to a visit which Estonian aviators paid to Latvia on July 29. In fact, those Estonian fliers
who had made the trip were presented with Latvian Aviation Regiment badges on this return visit.
- The flight was made in Ansaldo SVA-10s no. 4K, 5K and 6K.
- The Latvians arrived in Tallinn at 3pm on August 26, where they were met by the Commander of the Estonian Air Force and
a number of their pilots. The next three days were filled with banquets, sightseeing, and the exchange of aviation insights.
- On August 29th the group left Tallinn and flew, with an Estonian escort, to Tartu. The visit continued along similar lines as
in Tallinn, and they returned to Latvia on the afternoon of August 30th.
