Details:
  • The accident took place at the Aviation Division's summer base near Daugavpils.
  • The pilot was engaged in gunnery practice, shooting at a cone being trailed by another aircraft.
  • When the pilot dived to 'attack' the target, he misjudged his manoeuvre and struck the target towing cable. The ADC's left wing collapsed and the plane fell to the ground.
