BAMBERGS, KARLIS

  • December 13, 1919 - a member of the acceptance committee which examined the aircraft and aircraft parts abandoned by the Germans at Spilve, and determined their suitability for repair. They found that five of the aircraft could possibly be made airworthy again, three could not.
  • June 17, 1920 - V.Jakubovs and Bambergs test fly and accept DFW No.22. Tragically, on June 29, two other aviators die in the crash of this aircraft when the pilot misjudges a turn while at low altitude.
