• 1893 - Born
  • Graduated from the Moscow Aviation school.
  • Flew combat missions for the IRAS (Farmans, Voisins) and, later, for the Bolsheviks.
  • Flying for the reds near the end of the Civil war, Celmins was commander of the 46th (later renamed the 3rd) Red aviation division. During this time, they were active primarily in Lithuania and Poland.
  • Returned to Latvia after the war.
  • 1923 - Helps N.Pulins in constructing "Spriditis I"
  • 1924 - Member of the Latvian Aero Club.
  • Becomes a member of the Aizsargu Aviacija
  • August 13, 1936 - flying as observer, he experiences the first Aizsargi plane crash. His KOD-1, being flown at Bauska by Janis Muiznieks, comes in too low for landing and tears off its undercarriage on an obstacle at the edge of the airfield. They are forced to perform a belly landing, but emerge unhurt.
  • September 27-28, 1936 - participates in the first "Flight Around Latvia" competition. Serving as an observer with Toms Gailitis as his pilot, the pair claim victory in their KOD-1.
  • July 11, 1937 - participates in the Aviation Festival at Kuldiga.
  • September 26-27, 1937 - with pilot Konstantins Reihmanis participates in the second "Flight Around Latvija" contest.
  • September 25, 1938 - at age 45 becomes the oldest person to make a parachute jump in Latvia (Air Festival at Cesis).
  • July 2, 1939 - Participated in the Aviation Festival at Rujiena.
  • July 9, 1939 - Participated in the Aviation Festival at Kuldiga.
